On connectivity, most devices use the Tuya / Smart Life ecosystem over 2.4 GHz WiFi (note: not 5 GHz), with app control, scheduling, push alerts, and Alexa/Google voice integration. The decisive compliance issue is radio approval: the EU requires CE-RED (Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU) and the US requires an FCC ID — a device without the correct radio certification cannot be legally sold or imported.
